Topics of Rural Sanitation Management

The DAAD-Alumni Summer School "Rural Sanitation Management", is one of three International Alumni Summer Schools at German universities in 2008 organised by the  German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in cooperation with the respective Universities.

The DAAD-Alumni Summer School on "Rural Sanitation Management" is organised in cooperation with the Universität Siegen. The Summer School has two parts:
Part One will be held at Gummersbach from 27th April to 03rd May, 2008.
According to the title "Rural Sanitation Management", participants will meet at the country side in Gummersbach/Dieringhausen within the "Bergisches Land". Sanitation management aspects of different countries will be compared and discussed. In addition, lectures will be held by German professional institutions, both private and governmental. Excursions are planned to see and evaluate technical solutions in sanitation management in the surrounding of the venue.
Part Two will be held at Munich from 04th May to 10th May, 2008.
Like the participants of all three summer schools, the Summer School at Siegen will travel to Munich on 4th May.
DAAD in cooperation with the German Agency for Water, Wastewater and Recycling (DWA) has organised a visit to the world largest international trade fair "IFAT" (on Water, Wastewater and Recycling). Exhibitors will present innovative technologies and the latest development projects in presentations and panel discussions. The latest research results and state-of-the-art technologies will be presented, among other things on the topics of coastal protection and flood control.
A lot of side events like visits to special fora and official receptions at the IFAT are part of the programme.
